We sent our beloved Photology iPhone app to Apple today for review, so release will hopefully be early September!

We couldn't find a single app to organize, browse and share our iPhone photos in a good way, so we decided to make our dream version of the iPhone Photos app. Today, about 7 months later, we are super excited to have sent the first version to Apple for review.

About the app:

Photology is a high-end Photos app that lets you BROWSE, ORGANIZE and SHARE your iPhone photos in a better way. Everything from automatically splitting your existing Camera Roll into events by date/time with detailed info about your images, to sorting your images into albums that you can share on Facebook, sync with Dropbox, password protect and more!

The interaction and user experience on this site is top of the line, due to extended use of modern programming techniques (a lot of jQuery). Throughout the site, we use short versions of content (what most people want) with the option to expand it without leaving the page. We built it so deep linking to this content also works (example).

Have a go at the interactive showcase on the front page, the online gymnasium presentation with interactive screens, the presentation of subjects with unprecedented fast and simple navigation, and the expand/collapse navigation of the news section.

We are honored to be working with the people behind The Arctic Challenge! The solution we ended up with is a website that will evolve before/during/after the actual event. At the time of writing, we are pre event with main focus on riders qualifying for the event. The riders are profiled both on the frontpage, under Riders and in a section called "Rider TV".

The site is a techincal beauty behind the mask, based on the content management system KeyPublisher. Article relations between riders, rider videos, brands (sponsors) and nations make for a really dynamic and rider focused user experience. We also use quite a lot of jQuery (tech talk) to expand content in place instead of leaving an introduction for the full view. The Gallery is a really cool example of expanding content and deep linking (the album in the link expands after the page has loaded). The video presentation on the front page is also a cool bit of tech, featuring 2 layers on top of a thumbnail of the video, adding the slugs and play button that dims down on mouse over.

As always, the newsletter functionality is linked to our beautiful Campaign Mailer.

Also worth mentioning is the use of a custom web font all accross the site for a cooler look and feel.

Sweet Protection Webshop

This has been a long time coming. During 2010 we have been working with strategy, design, interaction and all that comes with developing an international webshop. We have worked extensively to make the best user experience from entering the shop for the first time, the shopping experience all the way though the check out process. Nothing is "stock", all is custom. The eCommerce solution (KeyCommerce by our faithful partner Keyteq) is fully integrated with Sweet's internal ERP systems to make the work flow painless.

Unlike the Sweet brand site at www.sweetprotection.com, the webshop will not get a new identity each season. We made the design pretty clean and strict, with the product promotion slideshow on the front page breaking out of the grid for some sweet action flavor. As on the brand site, our email marketing tool Campaign Mailer is fully integrated.

Our 4th make of the annual Sweet Protection website is even more functional than the previous ones. We have re-made the whole thing from scratch, moving from flash to web 2.0. The new technical platform makes the cool features like dressingroom and store locator work on new browsing devices like iPad and iPhone. It also makes it easier than ever for Sweet to manage the content on their site.

A sample from the illustrated animations for Tine (Norways leading dairy product manufacturer). This is part of a e-learning course, where "Mr. Ekstra Lett" acts as the tutor in a light and easy manner. Every now and then the angry whole milk (customer) comes in and questions why things are not in order. Tine is happy with the result and so are we! More Tine to come.

These three illustrations and games/toys are used on the Landlord cereals; Corn Flakes, Honni Puffs and Sjoko Kuler.

The games are printed on the back of the packaging, making use of what's usually thrown away.

The limit for these bumpers is 8 seconds, so it's kind of hard to catch what's going on. That was a part of the brief aswell: "fast and funny" so it could be interesting to view several times.

There are 4 scenes:
1. Biking over the bridge
2. Swinging in the kindergarden
3. Getting a haircut and the hairdresser
4. Chilling in the park and listening to music, on a towel with a black hairball buddy

This is all for fun and pure fiction, so Pinky the Furball has no life outside NRK or Red Rabbits :)
